Observing the forces shown by two spring balances

Method
  • Take two identical spring balances.
  • Fix one end of spring balance B against a support and join the hook of spring balance A to the hook at B's other end.
  • Pull the other end of spring balance A slowly outward, applying force gently.
  • Observe the magnitude and direction of the force shown by spring balance A and spring balance B.
