Practising process skills with a paper aeroplane

ObjectiveTo practise science process skills
Materials
  • Paper
  • Scissors
Method
  • Find different designs of paper aeroplane and study how each is built.
  • Predict which of those designs will make an aeroplane that stays in the air the longest and flies the farthest.
  • Take a sheet of A4 paper and choose the design you think most suitable. Build an aeroplane following your chosen design.
  • Fly the aeroplane you have made and compare it with the aeroplanes your friends have made.
Discussion
  • Think about what kind of modification to your chosen design would turn it into a better one than before.
  • Discuss which science process skills were used in this activity.
