Observation of the state of sinking and floating

Method
  • Take two pieces of aluminium foil of equal area and a beaker that is filled more than half with water.
  • Squeeze one of the aluminium foils into the shape of a ball.
  • Keep the other piece as a flat sheet.
  • Drop both aluminium pieces into the water.
  • Observe which piece floats and which sinks.
