Making a model of a parachute

Method
  • Take scissors, a thin plastic sheet and thread.
  • Stretch the plastic, fold it in different steps and cut it into a circular shape.
  • Tie equal pieces of thread at equal distances around the edges of the circular plastic.
  • Tie the open ends of the threads in a single knot and attach a toy or a stone to it.
  • Drop the prepared parachute model from a height and observe its fall.
Discussion
  • Does the parachute fall at a high speed at the beginning and with a uniform speed at the end?
