Method

Make flash cards for the producer, consumer, first consumer, second consumer, third consumer and decomposer of a grassland ecosystem.
Form a group of your friends.
Choose 11 friends to be producers, eight to be first consumers, six to be second consumers and four to be third consumers.
Decide whose food is what and who eats whom, sit in the correct order, and act out the food chain.

Discussion

After the demonstration, discuss how food and energy flow from the producer up to the topmost consumer, and reach a conclusion.
