Activity 18.1

Method

Collect locally available materials like wood pieces, sugar, stone, water, cooking oil, ghee, rice, maize, glass, iron pieces, etc.
Make fire using the wood pieces in an open place.
Put the above materials in the fire one by one and observe.
Classify the objects which burn in fire and which do not burn and fill the given table.

Discussion

Conclusion: On this basis, all combustible substances are organic and non-combustible substances are inorganic.
