Observation and study of the life cycle of the honey bee
Materials
A video or picture showing the life cycle of the honey bee
Clay
Metacards
Method
Divide the class into four groups.
Watch the video of the honey bee.
Study it carefully. Each group discusses one stage of the life cycle of the bee: egg, larva, pupa or adult. Draw a picture of that stage on a metacard and note its characteristics. Also prepare a model of the life cycle of the honey bee using clay.
Paste the metacards and models made by all the groups on the board in the correct order. Present and discuss each stage in turn.
Discussion
Based on the presentations, draw a conclusion about the life cycle of the honey bee.
