Reflect each of these points in the X-axis and write the coordinates of the image: A(1, 2), M(-2, 3), C(4, -5), D(-6, 6), E(-5, -4), F(-2, 5), G(9, -8), H(-3, -9), I(-10, 12), W(7, 8).
Reflect the same list of points in the Y-axis and write the coordinates of the image.
Reflect the point P(5, -6) in the Y-axis. (a) Find the coordinates of P'. (b) Find the distance PP'.
P(4, 3), Q(7, 3) and R(4, -3) are the vertices of a right angled triangle. Write the coordinates of its image after a reflection in the X-axis.
Take A(-2, 3), B(-5, 2) and C(-4, 5). First reflect the triangle in the X-axis, then reflect the image you obtain in the Y-axis.
Plot the point (4, -5) and translate it 3 units right and 4 units up. Write the coordinates of the new point.
The triangle ABC has vertices A(1, 0), B(4, 5) and C(7, -2). Translate it 3 units right and 5 units down, and write the coordinates of the image.
What translation carries the point (-3, 5) onto the point (4, 5)?
Find the translation that carries A(3, -2) onto B(2, -1), then use that same translation on the line AB, where A is (4, 4) and B is (-5, 7).
Rotate each of these points about the origin through +90° and also through -90°: (-4, 7), (4, -7), (5, 9), (3, 0), (0, 6).
Write down, as rules, the relationship between a rotation of +90° and a rotation of -90° about the origin.
A square has vertices A(0, 0), B(3, 0), C(3, 3) and D(0, 3). Rotate it about the origin O(0, 0) through (a) +90° and (b) -90°, and write the coordinates.
A triangle has vertices A(0, 4), B(-2, 2) and C(2, 2). Write the coordinates of its image after a reflection in the X-axis. Which vertex travelled the furthest?
A student rotated the point (2, 7) through +90° and wrote the answer as (7, -2). Is that right? If not, give the correct answer and say where the mistake lies.
A shape is translated by (5, 4) and then translated again by (-2, 3). What single translation has the same effect, and where does the point (1, 1) end up?
