Quick Facts

Unit: 8: Electricity and Magnetism
Topic: Combining Cells: Series and Parallel
Domain: Physics

Brightness or time, not both

Study Tip

To tell the two combinations apart, look only at the poles where two cells meet. Opposite poles means series and the voltages add. Like poles joined means parallel and the voltage stays put while the cells last far longer.
