Lesson 4 topics

The Circle and Its Parts

Quick Facts

Lesson: 4: Circle
Topic: The Circle and Its Parts
Domain: Geometry

A circle is every point at one fixed distance from one fixed point. Radius, diameter, chord, arc, sector and segment are all names for what that rule produces.

Study Tip

Before using C = pi d or C = 2 pi r, write down whether the question gave you a radius or a diameter. Mixing them up gives an answer exactly twice or exactly half the right one.
