Lesson 11 topics

Introduction to Sets Operations on Sets Venn Diagrams

Quick Facts

Lesson: 11: Sets
Topic: Venn Diagrams
Domain: Sets

A Venn diagram draws the four regions as patches of paper: A only, both, B only, and neither. Nothing new is added; the counting just becomes visible.

Study Tip

Always write the overlap first, because a number given for a whole circle already includes it. Then check that the four regions add up to n(U).
