Static charge does only three things. It attracts, it repels, and when enough of it collects, it jumps. Everything in this topic is one of those three.
Presenter notes: Open with two pictures side by side on the board: dust caked on a television screen, and a freshly printed photocopy. Ask which one is a problem and which one is useful. Everybody answers immediately. Then tell them the two pictures are the same event, powder sticking to a charged surface, and that the only difference is whether anybody wanted it there. Say that today is not about learning two lists. It is about noticing that there is only one list, read twice.
