Presenter notes: Open with a question that sounds silly and is not. Point at the computer, or draw one on the board, and ask what would happen if you switched on a brand new one with nothing installed. Most will say it would work normally. Let that answer stand, then say that every part would light up and it would be able to do absolutely nothing. Their faces change. That gap is the lesson.
