Presenter notes: Ask one question and let the class argue: on what date does Dashain fall? Somebody will give a gate, somebody else a different one, and eventually somebody will say it changes every year. Ask why a festival that has been kept for centuries cannot settle on a date. Nobody in the room will know, and the honest answer takes the whole lesson, because it involves the moon, two different kinds of month and an extra month that gets inserted every three years. Promise them that by the end of the period they will be able to explain to an adult why the patro at home has two sets of numbers on every square.
